Sec Update February 18
Hi members Laois RTAI,
Our first Casual Meeting of the year took place in the Maldron Hotel on Tuesday last (6th February)with a small crowd (oxymoron?) in attendance but a sociable chat over tea/coffee. Sheelagh (who will become the RTAI National President) next month kept us up to date on matters national and local and especially as always on the local arts with her promotion of the activities of the Dunamase Theatre and the upcoming annual Drama Festival in Mountmellick (Fri. 9th to Fri 16th March).
The only event on our RTAI calendar at the moment is a GOLF OUTING at ABBEYLEIX organised by Maura Horan for TUESDAY 20th MARCH commencing with tea/coffee from 11am and the usual format of competition and food available all day in the Club-house.
There seems to be still some interest in BRIDGE and just to sort it out I would like to get expressions of interest more formalised.Wednesday mornings in the Teachers Centre from 10.30 is the favoured suitable time slot. This can be a learning or just playing arrangement as seemingly the best way to learn is to play.So if you are still interested in learning/playing/teaching/ bridge please let me know as soon as possible so we can get it re-started.
Thats all for now but keep an eye on the RTAI Laois and National websites for other 'stuff'and also emails from Sheelagh. Hi members Laois RTAI,
